General Frequently Asked Question From Clients
Your Direct Primary Care membership allows you to have an optimal primary care experience. DPC doctors keep their membership panels smaller than traditional primary care practices. This means it is easier to get an appointment and your doctor has more time to focus on your needs. Your membership fee covers a wealth of primary care services so you never have to worry about a surprise medical bill. In DPC, we can also be more flexible about our care model. Sometimes, you may just have a small concern or question that doesn’t need an office visit. In these instances, you can reach your doctor by phone, text or email!
We do not accept insurance plans at Sol Direct Primary Care. We have found that the insurance-based medical system continues to leave Black women behind. Health insurance puts undue burdens on medical practices that force them to see too many patients and give low-quality care. Our patients are more than just a number, they are valued members. At Sol, we work for our patient's best interests, not the interests the insurance companies.
While you are not required to have an insurance plan with a Direct Primary Care membership, we highly recommend that you maintain medical insurance. Direct Primary Care can address up to 90% of your medical needs, but a DPC membership does not cover the cost of specialists, hospitalizations, emergency room and urgent care visits. Unexpected health emergencies, such as the need for surgery, can happen to anyone, and we recommend that you have coverage for these catastrophic events.
We do not offer pay-per-visit plans. The value of high-quality primary care rests in an ongoing doctor-patient relationship. In order to keep your medical team stable, the membership model works best.
Yes, we offer convenient labs on site at the practice. Every member gets their annual labs FREE!
If you need additional labs done, we offer the lowest cash-based pricing for labs, saving you valuable time and money on bloodwork.
No! We see any patient regardless of color, gender or creed.
While our focus is Black women, we believe that ALL patients deserve high-quality medical care.
